as stated in the application post, we want to get back to the organic side of roleplay that made it fun in the first time, when you'd find that you had common interests with someone that you may not have necessarily thought to speak to otherwise. pre-planned storylines can be fun, but they tend to hinder interaction and creativity. at ~wetcoast, we want you to imagine your character and the possibilities for creating an open and inviting narrative. whether they were a vancouver native who is just returning from a year long sabbatical abroad, a wandering spirit who stayed too long and now finds themselves stuck, an estranged relative returning home to deal with unsettling business, the options are endless. when applying: make sure that your entries are backdated, and you have a screened post, and friends only post up. your userinfo shouldn't be hidden, and you should have anonymous comments disabled. we will not allow challenges for faces, since there are a number of them out there to use. we must be able to google search your played-by easily, and their age must be realistic to their real life age. we do reserve the right to deny any application we feel wouldn't be a good fit, based on any reason we find, without explanation. do 👏 not 👏 cross 👏 lines this cannot be stressed enough. do you want to play your character as a shy, goody two-shoes who minds their own business? do it! do you want to play your character as a messy, money grubbing, gold digger? do it! maybe your character is a two-faced, gossiping, bitch who shows loyalty to no one. we love it! however, all in character actions must stay in character. do not mistreat another player out of character based on what happens in character. roleplay isn't that serious, and it's meant to be fun, and let's face it - sometimes over the top drama is the most fun. with that being said, if you feel like lines are blurring too much, or someone is bordering on bullying, please bring it to our attention so we can mediate before it becomes an issue. updates will be mandatory, but there will be no restriction on your creativity. we encourage drama, interactive posts, activities, etc. you can post instagram pictures, tweets, quizzes, narratives, lyrics, whatever your heart desires, as long as you make two posts a month, with at least ten days between posts. this helps keep things on the friends page constant, rather than bursty at the beginning of the month, and dead towards the end. your friends list should remain updated, and your updates should be viewable to all members, unless private customs, scenes, etc. the use of messengers is currently not allowed. we want the focus to be on community interaction, and with messaging apps, things are too private and limit interaction. obviously there is no real way to enforce this, but if we catch wind of people breaking this rule, we will give you a warning before removing you. overrides will be permitted if a member fails to comply with any of the following rules: updating their journal accordingly, keeping their friends list up to date weekly, and cleaning out their journal. all rules are subject to change, any questions should be directed to the contact post in the mod journal.
